About me

Kathleen moved from Pennsylvania to Cascais, Portugal in early 2025 with her family of five. Originally from New Jersey, Kathleen studied in Philadelphia and spent two decades working with an international management consulting firm.

As the mother of children in the LGBTQ+ community, she has developed a deep understanding of the resources, networks, and activities that help queer families thrive while living abroad.

“Moving abroad is an incredibly stressful transition — and doing so with an LGBTQ family adds even more emotional layers and logistical challenges. Having Kathleen by my side through this process has been truly invaluable. She’s not only helped with the countless day-to-day details of moving to Portugal but has also provided something even more important: peace and calm through it all. Being able to speak with someone who has personally experienced the emotional journey of moving abroad with LGBTQ kids has been such a comfort and a source of strength.

Kathleen is a wonderful sounding board for every concern and question that arises. She always listens with genuine care and responds with thoughtful, practical advice. She has a ready list of trusted, LGBTQ-friendly resources and doesn’t hesitate to leverage her extensive network to find answers specific to my situation. In the midst of such a demanding and often overwhelming transition, Kathleen is the one person who consistently brings me reassurance, clarity, and confidence that everything will be okay. I truly can’t imagine navigating this move without her guidance and support.”
